Looking for the perfect way to spend your Sundays this month?
Look no further than Sunday Sounds: Unplugged Matinees, part of Council's much-loved Live 'n' Local program. The Alan Baker Art Gallery will be hosting live, unplugged performances by emerging local musicians every Sunday in June, 2-4pm. These intimate matinees spotlight raw talent, stripped-back arrangements and the pure joy of music in a laid-back setting.
There's also something for the kids to enjoy while you kick back and relax - Sunday Art Play. These breakout sessions are a fun, hands-on way for children to explore their creativity through drawing and imaginative activities that encourage self-expression and skill development.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said both the Sunday Sessions and Sunday Art Play were free to enjoy.
"There's nothing worse than the Sunday scaries - you're on the go for the entire week, you juggle social and sporting commitments on the weekend and before you know what's happening it's almost time to do it all again," she said.
"Sunday Sounds is the perfect excuse to consciously take time out to relax and recover from the week that's gone by and start the week coming with calm and confidence.
"It's great to be able to do something like this locally and support our local talent."
And that's not all going on down at Alan Baker Art Gallery. Residents are also invited to check out the ARTangle public art displays placed at the front of the Alan Baker Art Gallery and Narellan Library. Featuring stunning works by talented local artists, residents can visit day or night to enjoy the diverse displays of local creativity.
