Council has provided $25,000 in funding towards hosting the trial match between the North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos at Barlow Park in February.
The funds have been provided to Cairns District Rugby League Inc. under Council's Regional Event Grant stream.
The pre-season tour, The Ken Frost Homes Challenge, will include training sessions open to the public as well as the February 22 game.
