Support for Night-Time Economy Music to Sydney's Ears

The Sydney Business Chamber has welcomed plans to enhance Sydney's night-time economy through initiatives to inspire more live music and events.

"Sydney has an outstanding live music, entertainment and events history and it is pleasing to see plans coming together to make it easier for business to run more events that will boost the economy," said Patricia Forsythe, Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber.

"The night-time economy contributes billions of dollars in revenue to Sydney. More than $3.6 billion is generated every year in the City of Sydney alone.

"Events and attractions, local festivals and live music are an exciting part of Sydney and it is critical initiatives are encouraged all over Sydney for a more enhanced and vibrant night life," Mrs Forsythe said.

"It is good to see live music at the front and centre for both the NSW Government and the Labor Opposition.

"The Labor Opposition has been a passionate supporter of policies to improve live music across Sydney. It is good to know under a Coalition or Labor Government, live music will have a successful future in the city.

"Sydney has a lot to offer with an array of restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs. Making it easier to do business by cutting red tape means a more bustling night environment and a positive visitor experience for all," Mrs Forsythe said.
