The Government of Canada is committed to ensuring readers everywhere can enjoy a broad range of books by Canadian authors. We are dedicated to working with the publishing industry and organizations that promote Canadian authors and publishers by increasing their visibility. Literary events that engage Canadians in their communities are an excellent way for Canadian authors to find new readers.
That is why our government has invested $39,000 for the 35th and 36th editions of Le Salon du livre de la Côte-Nord. The Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament (Gaspésie-Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine), highlighted the benefits of this investment today, on behalf of the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.
This funding will help to promote the event and assist organizers so they can offer more of their rich selection of Canadian books to a range of readers in the region.
