Supporting Tasmanian early-stage and start-up small businesses

Jane Howlett,Minister for Small Business

The Tasmanian Liberal Government recognises the important role entrepreneurs play in the economy, particularly as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

I'm pleased to announce applications for the Small Business Incubator and Accelerator Pilot Program open today. This program will support the creation of more businesses and the success of existing early-stage businesses by providing them with specialist advice, support and assistance they need to decrease risk and increase sustainability and viability.

Grants of up to $250,000 are available for eligible organisations to design and deliver incubator programs to nurture innovative ideas and build businesses from the ground up, and accelerator programs aimed at fast-tracking business development to help entrepreneurs advance to the next stage of their business lifecycle.

Total funding of $2 million over three years is available for the program.
