Surry Hills RES charge man after drugs and cash seized

A man will face court today charged after prohibited drugs, and cash seized in Sydney's CBD as part of an ongoing investigation.

Earlier this year, officers from the Central Metropolitan Region established Strike Force United to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney.

Following extensive inquiries, Surry Hills RES investigators, with the assistance of Operation ODIN, executed a search warrant at a unit on Park Street, Sydney about 1.30pm yesterday (Friday 18 September 2020).

During the search, officers allegedly seized prohibited drugs – including 28g of cocaine, 750g of MDMA, 95 LSD tabs, 800g of cannabis, ephedrine and ketamine – an extendable baton, luxury brand goods, and more than $17,000 cash.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug - large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity, two counts of supply prohibited drug, two counts of possess prohibited drug, two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime, and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 19 September 2020).
