Suspension of liquor licence - Bojangles Restaurant and Saloon in Alice Springs

Bojangles Restaurant and Saloon has been issued a 48-hour suspension notice following the arrest of the licensee in Alice Springs on Thursday 21 May 2020.

The 59-year-old licensee was charged with five counts of unauthorised supply or service of liquor.

Section 258 of the Liquor Act 2019 allows the Commissioner of Police, or their Delegate, to suspend a licensed premises from trading for a period of up to 48-hours.

Bojangles Restaurant and Saloon will be unable to operate from 6:00pm Friday 22 May until 6:00pm Sunday 24 May.

Northern Territory Police will continue to utilise all resources available to them to investigate offences committed under the Liquor Act 2019. Alcohol Policing Unit, Police Auxiliary Liquor Inspectors and General Duty members are working together and engaging technology support through CCTV to identify and address alcohol related harm in our communities.

Anyone who has information in relation to the secondary supply of alcohol is urged to contact police on 131 444 or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
