Suspicious Death Investigation, Nerang

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man at Nerang on Saturday, May 24.

Emergency services were called to a hotel on Station Street around 11.15am, following reports a man had been located unresponsive in a room.

The 35-year-old Nerang man was declared deceased at the scene and a crime scene was declared.

As part of investigations, a post-mortem was conducted yesterday (Tuesday May 27) which identified the man had significant head and internal injuries.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who stayed or visited the hotel on Station Street overnight from the evening of Friday May 23 to Saturday May 24, to contact police.

The Homicide Investigation Unit is now assisting the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch with investigations.
