Suspicious Fires Appeal, Mount Morgan Area

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into two suspicious vegetation fires in the Mount Morgan area on 12 August.

Around 11.20am, police and emergency services were called to reports of grass fires around the Burnett Highway at Bouldercombe which were extinguished a short time later.

Around 4pm the same day, emergency services were called to reports of grass fires around the Burnett Highway at Mount Morgan, which were extinguished around 10pm.

No evacuations occurred, and no one was injured.

Anyone with relevant information or vision is urged to contact police.

Investigations into the cause of the fires and whether they are linked are ongoing.
