Suspicious unit fire, Browns Plains

Police are investigating the circumstances of a suspicious fire at Browns Plains this morning where two people remain unaccounted for.

Around 4am, police and emergency services were called to a townhouse engulfed in fire on Moyla Street.

A 49-year-old woman who resided in the house has not been accounted for.

A 49-year-old man known to the woman, who police believe was in the area at the time, is also unaccounted for.

Preliminary investigations indicate the fire was deliberately lit and a crime scene has been established.

A silver ute was also located in a carpark nearby, believed to be connected to the 49-year-old man. A second crime scene was established as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police are working to determine the circumstances of the fire and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
