SUV Hits Tree, Driver Dies Near Wagga Wagga

A woman has died when an SUV left the Olympic Highway and hit a tree north-east of Wagga Wagga this morning.

Emergency services were called to the highway at Yathella, near Baylis Lane, shortly before 7.20am (Monday 8 June 2026), and found the driver had died at the scene. She is yet to be formally identified.

Officers attached to Riverina Police Distrct established a crime scene has been established and inquiries have commenced into the cause of the crash.
