SWIM Coaches & Teachers Australia (SWIM) is pleased to confirm that SWIMInfo Christchurch, held on 9 May at the new Parakiore Aquatic Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand, is officially sold out.

This result reflects a strong level of engagement from swim teachers, coaches and aquatic professionals across New Zealand. It signals a clear demand for structured, practical professional development that supports day to day delivery in swim education.

For many professionals, the challenge is familiar. Limited time, increasing expectations from parents, and the need to keep teams aligned around consistent standards. Events such as SWIMInfo provide a focused environment where these challenges can be addressed in a practical way.

The Christchurch event marks an important milestone. It is the first SWIMInfo delivered in New Zealand as part of the 2026 program. It also represents the beginning of a broader Australia and New Zealand SWIMInfo series, with May set to become an intensive period of delivery across multiple regions.

"SWIM has delivered professional development to the aquatic industry since 1971 and continues to support swim schools and educators with practical education, clear structures and industry connection," said SWIM Chief Executive Officer Brendon Ward.

He continued, "The strong response in Christchurch demonstrates the value of bringing the industry together in local settings. It allows professionals to engage with relevant topics, share experiences and return to their programs with practical ideas they can apply immediately."

A focused period of SWIMInfo delivery

Following Christchurch, SWIMInfo continues across Australia through May with a series of events designed to support swim teachers, coaches and swim school leaders, with a strong focus on regional areas in Australia.

Each session focuses on practical application. Participants can expect clear frameworks, relevant examples and strategies that can be implemented on pool deck and within teams. SWIMInfo's are inclusive events with registration open to members and non-members. Each event is tailored to the region's needs, and is unique to the presenter and the region. What this means for the industry

For swim schools and aquatic facilities, consistency in delivery is often the key challenge. Teams are diverse. Experience levels vary. Expectations continue to increase.

SWIMInfo provides structure in this environment. It helps professionals align around effective teaching practices, clear communication and strong progression pathways.

A typical participant might return to their swim school with improved lesson structure, clearer teaching cues, and a better understanding of how to support both swimmers and staff.

Mr Ward said, "This is where professional development creates real impact. Not in theory, but in the daily delivery of lessons.

"SWIM continues to expand SWIMInfo sessions across regions, with a focus on supporting professionals where they work. The goal remains consistent. To enable excellence in swimming and water safety through clear, practical education. "
