Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

SACF advises the Minister on noise issues at Sydney Airport and is Sydney Airport's main public consultation forum.

Expressions of interest are being sought from community members who reside in close proximity to Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport to join SACF as a voluntary community representative for a 2-year term.

Chaired by Ms Ash Ambihaipahar MP, the primary role of SACF is to serve as the main body for community consultation on the Sydney Airport Long Term Operating Plan (LTOP). It also informs advice to the relevant minister on the abatement of aircraft noise and related environmental issues at Sydney Airport.

SACF has 4 community representative positions open to represent areas to the North, South, East and West of Sydney Airport.

Community representatives are required to attend meetings 4 times per year. Their role is to identify and raise issues, queries and submissions from their local communities that are relevant to the work of SACF, and list any issues for discussion by the forum.

Community representatives are also required to regularly consult within the communities they represent to ensure views and input they provide represents a broad diversity of perspectives. Candidates should be able to demonstrate engagement with their local communities.
