A Newtown man has made the heart-racing discovery that he snagged a $20 million Oz Lotto jackpot a fortnight ago after finally checking the ticket left languishing in his drawer.
The New South Wales player held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1655 on Tuesday 4 November 2025, and scored the entire $20 million jackpot.
"Oh my god! I'm shocked," the winning man exclaimed when we revealed the enormity of his win.
"I forgot to check this ticket and only remembered today. I had it kept in a drawer and forgot all about it.
"You're going to give me a heart attack! Oh my god!
"I'm sitting here on my bed thinking, 'what the hell is going on?'.
"You know what, this is my first Oz Lotto ticket. Something just told me to play this game.
"I usually play Powerball, but not all the time. But then a few weeks ago, I was getting a Powerball ticket and I thought I'd just get one for Oz Lotto too - something I've never done before.
"You've just made my year!
"I can't believe we're talking about twenty million dollars!
"First thing I'm going to do is buy myself a house, and I've been thinking about retirement, but wasn't sure how that was going to be possible.
"Oh my god! This is going to take a while to sink in."
The man's winning entry was purchased at Broadway Newsagency, Shop G2, Broadway Shopping Centre, 1 Bay Street, Broadway.
Broadway Newsagency owner Chirayu Oza said he was thrilled to hear his mystery winner had finally been united with his prize.
"When I first heard we'd sold a $20 million Oz Lotto ticket, I felt a good, happy dose of shock knowing that it would change someone's life for good," he said.
"During the past seven years, we've sold more than five division one winning tickets and can't wait to sell more.
"I wish our winner all the best. I hope this makes a life-changing difference to them and the people around them."
