The Andrews Labor Government has appointed noted sports and legal administrator Tal Karp to the Australian Grand Prix Corporation Board.
A lawyer, Ms Karp has worked in a range of senior legal, policy, strategy and advocacy roles with organisations including Sixfold Consulting Group, Victoria Legal Aid and the Sentencing Advisory Council.
The former Matildas international soccer player and Melbourne Victory W-League captain has also served as a director of YMCA Australia and Football Federation Victoria.
The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix and Australian MotoGP promote Melbourne and Victoria to the world - driving tourism, creating jobs and producing investment opportunities while contributing to the vibrancy of the state.
The 2019 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix attracted more than 324,000 spectators and the Albert Park race is locked in the Victorian calendar until at least 2025 after Formula 1 took up a two-year option in July.
Melbourne will again be the first event on the F1 calendar in 2020 with race day confirmed for Sunday, March 15.
The 2019 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will be held on Sunday, October 27 and this event is secured at Phillip Island until at least 2026.
