Tap your tourism potential

Tap your tourism potential

If you have a great tourism idea for the City of Logan but are unsure how to launch it, this could be perfect for you.

The 'Business of Tourism' is an information session initiated by Logan City Council

that focuses on options for business innovation, exploring food value-adding, diversifying product or experience offering, identifying pathways to market and the potential for tapping into tourism demand.

The next session will be held at Tamborine function venue Plunkett Villa on Friday, July 19.

Plunkett Villa is Logan's newest tourism venture and will be used as a case study during the session.

Hayley Flynn, co-owner of the UpMarkets at Underwood Park, said a previous information session she attended was very informative.

"As a market organiser I never realised how much was involved in tourism and how much it related to what our business is trying to achieve," she said.

"I took away so much from this session.

"If you're even remotely interested in tourism, in diversifying your business, or you just have an idea, then this program is a must."

For those who want to explore their options further, Council will be taking expressions of interest for a mentored business development program at the information session.

Register by Friday, July 12 to secure a place at the 'Business of Tourism' information session.
