A down-to-earth Taree grandfather who has endured tough times after the floods was overjoyed to discover he'd won $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw, giving him the chance to surprise his family with a Christmas they'll never forget.

The Mid North Coast resident held the 1st prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11045 drawn Tuesday 28 October 2025 and looks forward to a clean $100,000 prize.

"I'm feeling extra good today!" he said when speaking with us.

"I had no idea I'd won anything until I checked my ticket through the app. It was a beautiful moment!

"I tend to buy a couple of Lucky Lotteries tickets when I do my weekly grocery shop, but I never expected I'd win the big prize.

"It's been tough here ever since the community floods, so it'll be a great boost to the bank account.

"It's great timing heading into Christmas. I'll be able to give my family a Christmas they won't see coming.

"I'm not sure what I'll do with the prize just yet, but one thing's for certain, my grandkids are going to be spoilt rotten."

His winning entry of four consecutive numbers was purchased at Taree Lotto, K2, Manning Mall, 81 Manning Street, Taree.

Taree Lotto owner Karen du Preez shared she was excited to hear her team had sold a 1st Prize winning entry worth $100,000.

"We're thrilled to know we sold a 1st Prize winning entry to a lovely local customer that has been consistently supporting our small business!" she said.

"We can't wait to spread the life-changing news with everyone in the local community.

"Better yet, this is the second 1st Prize winning ticket we've sold this year and we feel like we could be on a winning streak.

"A big congratulations to our special winner! We hope this makes all your dreams come true."
