Tas Gov Boosts Industry Collaboration

The Tasmanian Government has outlined its first 200 days of delivery, as part of the bi-annual TCCI summit held in Launceston.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the Government is proud and ambitious about where our State is, and where we are heading.

"We have exciting days and years ahead of us and are well-positioned to seize the opportunities before us," Premier Rockliff said.

"This is a Government that encourages enterprise, economic growth, reward for effort and a community that looks out for each other.

"We are also a Government of action, with a firm eye to the future.

"Tasmania may be a small state in size and population, but we have big talent, big ideas and big ambitions, and our State is entering a new era of opportunity.

"Not only have we outlined what has been delivered for Tasmanians in our first 200 days since the election, I am also releasing our third 100-day plan.

"Our bi-annual industry summit is one of the key election commitments we are delivering on, and it was fantastic to be joined by key industry associations to address emerging opportunities and challenges.

"The summit is an opportunity for engagement to inform policy development, identify red tape and ensure business needs are central to our economic agenda.

"Tasmania has the strongest business confidence and conditions, and we are continuing our efforts to grow our economy and create opportunity."

Since the last summit, a government business charter has been established with the TCCI and headcount figures are being released monthly.

"The new charter was signed last month and will see enhanced government contracting opportunities for local businesses that employ Tasmanians," Premier Rockliff said.

"Through collaboration and partnership, our Government is ensuring Tasmania is the best place to live, work, raise a family, do business and invest."
