Task Force Maxima arrest, Gold Coast

Detectives from Task Force Maxima last night charged a 34-year-old man and 44-year-old man, both alleged patched members of Gold Coast Nomads OMCG, with offences of entering licensed premises with a prohibited item, Queensland Police say.

Police will allege both men were wearing Nomads Canberra OMCG hooded jumpers emblazoned with Nomad OMCG wording and signage.

It will further be alleged both men are local nomad patched members

Police will allege both men were in the foyer of a Surfers Paradise hotel which was a licensed area around 11.45pm on Sunday, September 11 2016.

Both men were arrested and charged with one count each of entering a licensed premises with a prohibited item.

The men will reappear in the Southport Magistrates Court on September 27.

Superintendent Mick Niland said those offenders with links to the criminal networks associating with OMCG will continue to be targeted by QPS and TF Maxima.

"Nomad OMCG is a declared criminal organisation with strong ties to organised crime.

"QPS and TF Maxima will continue to exploit opportunities to disrupt and dismantle OMCG criminal activity."
