Task Force Southern arrest in court tomorrow

Major Crime Investigation Branch detectives have today arrested and charged a 44-year-old male from Hallett Cove in connection with the unlawful detention and aggravated assault that allegedly occurred on 5 February 2019 at North Plympton.

It is alleged the assault was violent and prolonged. The arrested male and 3 other suspects were arrested and charged with these offences in early 2019 however the charges were withdrawn in September 2019.

A cold case review of the investigation by Task Force Southern has resulted in today's arrest with further arrests anticipated.

The male did not apply for bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Wednesday 1 February 2023.

Taskforce Southern Detectives continue to investigate the death of Trevor King, who was found deceased in the water at West Lakes on 4 January 2020 along with the disappearances and suspected murders of Robert Atkins who disappeared in November 2020 and Jeffrey Mundy who disappeared in December 2020.
