Tasmania Awards Contract for Park Booking System

The contract for the new Parks Online Booking System has been awarded, marking a major step toward a modern, easy to use service for visitors.

US eDirect Australia Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of software provider Tyler Technologies, will deliver the system.

Acting Minister for Parks, Madeleine Ogilvie, said the announcement followed a rigorous two stage procurement process.

"There was a very strong response from the industry for this service," Minister Ogilvie said.

"The new platform will deliver a single contemporary, mobile friendly, system for booking and managing Parks and Wildlife Service products. It will replace more than a dozen existing IT systems and manual processes and enable innovative capabilities to better service visitors.

"The new system will use the latest version of Recreation Dynamics, a cloud based platform designed specifically for government parks agencies.

"We are delivering smarter systems for Tasmania, with this platform already proven to work well for bookings such as camping, parks passes, walking tracks, tours, and more."

US eDirect has extensive experience partnering with parks agencies in Australia, New Zealand and the United States to deliver solutions based on the Recreation Dynamics.

"This expertise ensures we are setting Tasmania's system up for success by delivering technology upgrades tailored to Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service requirements," Minister Ogilvie said.

"This is an important step in building future systems and capability so we can continue to serve visitors in a modern and reliable way.

"This is a great outcome for the project, and I look forward to seeing the new system take shape."

The Tasmanian Government is investing $2 million in the project.

Work is now underway. Products will be delivered through a staged implementation. The first release is planned for late 2026.
