The Tasmanian Government has today launched Building Tasmania, a new central agency to supercharge infrastructure delivery across the State.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport and Minster for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said the establishment of Building Tasmania marked an important evolution of our State's infrastructure delivery.
"For the first time, Tasmania will have a single agency dedicated to delivering the major projects our communities rely on every day," Minister Vincent said
"This is about clearer accountability, stronger coordination and better outcomes for Tasmanians.
"By centralising infrastructure delivery, we can reduce duplication, streamline decision making and ensure we are delivering homes, roads, schools and many other projects in the best possible way."
Minister Vincent said major infrastructure continues to be a powerful driver of economic growth, supporting local jobs and building confidence across the state.
"Building Tasmania will bring together specialist expertise to manage our most complex and high value projects, lifting our capacity, reducing risk and ensuring we deliver infrastructure for future generations," Minster Vincent said.
"It will also strengthen our partnership with industry through clearer pipelines, more predictable processes and more opportunities for Tasmanian businesses.
"Above all, Building Tasmania is about delivering for Tasmanians."
