Tasmanian Bus Cancellations Near 200, Stranding Commuters

A staggering 190 Metro bus services have been cancelled in Hobart today, greatly impacting the ability of Tasmanians to get to work, school and appointments on time.

Bus disruptions have been rife across Tasmania in 2023, with figures of 100 daily cancellations first making headlines early in the year.

The Liberal Government's approach since then clearly isn't working, with the numbers now approaching an unenviable new milestone of 200 daily cancellations.

When it comes to public transport, Hobart is already poorly serviced for a capital city, and after 10 years of a Liberal Government asleep at the wheel, the massive reliability issues Tasmanians face are only getting worse.

With so many Tasmanians affected, the cancellations are having a negative impact on the economy as people with no other travel options are forced to be late for work.

It's beyond time the Liberals came up with some new solutions to this growing problem, before Tasmanians give up on public transport altogether placing even more pressure on the state's road network.
