The Tasmanian Government has welcomed delegates to Tasmanian Tech Fest 2026, a statewide celebration of the rapidly evolving technologies shaping Tasmania's future economy.
The event, being held in Hobart on 18 March, highlights why embracing innovation is essential.
Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy, Madeleine Ogilvie, said industries all over the world are undergoing a technological revolution.
"Our Government is delivering for Tasmanians by working collaboratively with industry leaders and technology providers to be prepared for the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead," Minister Ogilvie said.
"The timing of this year's Tech Fest and the Tasmanian Government ICT Industry Summit is significant, coinciding with the release of the Government's two new strategies designed to power Tasmania's digital and advanced technology future: the Advanced Technology Strategy and the Digital Tasmania Strategy.
"These strategies are about ensuring Tasmania doesn't just keep pace with global change - we lead in areas where we have natural strengths.
"From advanced manufacturing to artificial intelligence, Tasmanian Tech Fest 2026 will showcase the innovation already happening here and the enormous opportunity ahead.
"Our State is ready to demonstrate what's possible in a modern, digital‑enabled economy."
The Tasmanian Government ICT Industry Summit will play a central role in bringing government and industry together to strengthen Tasmania's digital foundations and set collective priorities for the sector.
"The Summit is a key forum at the Tech Fest, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, students, researchers and industry leaders to explore what this future looks like," Minister Ogilvie said.
"It will ensure we are aligned, coordinated and ambitious in delivering the infrastructure, skills and trusted systems needed to support Tasmania's digital transformation."
Tasmania's strong research capabilities, renewable energy advantage, innovative businesses and collaborative culture place the state in a unique position to grow high‑value industries, attract investment and create new jobs.
