Tasmania’s performing arts community will be celebrated tonight at the launch of the 2019 Tasmanian Theatre Awards.
Now in their fifth year, the awards celebrate excellence and achievement in theatre throughout Tasmania and are presented by the Tasmanian Theatre Council.
The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of Tasmania’s thriving cultural and creative industries and we recognise the valuable contribution that theatre organisations make.
That’s why $400,000 has been committed over two years to support the sector through the new Tasmanian Theatre Fund, which will augment our existing investment in theatre.
There are over 30 different awards offered each year, in the categories of professional theatre, community theatre, and community musical theatre.
