A taxi driver has been robbed and assaulted in Sydney’s south this morning, NSW Police say.
Just before 7am tomorrow, emergency services were called to Wentworth Avenue, Eastgardens, following reports of an assault.
Police have been told the driver, a man believed to be aged in his 50s, was in a parked taxi when an unknown man approached the vehicle and threatened him.
The man stole cash and assaulted the driver before fleeing the scene.
The driver was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries including grazes to his hand, face and back before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital.
Officers from Botany Bay Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
