Teacher charged over sexual assault in Auburn

A teacher will face court after allegedly sexually assaulting a student under his care, NSW Police say.

Police will allege in court the man sexually assaulted the girl while in the classroom of a high school in Sydney’s inner-west.


On Monday (8 October 2018), the girl reported the incident to her parents, who contacted police.

About 10.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 October 2018), Auburn detectives attended a home in Leppington where they arrested a 50-year-old man.

He was taken to Narellan Police Station and charged with sexual intercourse with person under care – 16 years of age.

The man appeared at Campbelltown Local Court today (Thursday 11 October 2018), where he was granted strict conditional bail, to re-appear at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 5 December 2018.
