Teacher recruitment campaign commences

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Education

A national advertising campaign has been launched highlighting the advantages of teaching in Tasmania and encouraging teachers from across Australia seek employment in our Government Schools.

Teachers play a vital role in improving education outcomes for students, and we want to attract the best and brightest to work in our schools.

The focus of the campaign is to attract talented teachers to targeted Tasmanian schools in regional, rural, and high-priority locations.

It also promotes the advantages of teaching in our beautiful state, such as the unique lifestyle and great work opportunities on offer.

Our teachers do such an incredible job, and I would like to thank the thousands who make a real difference in the lives of young Tasmanians each day.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is investing record amounts into our education system and we are employing more staff including Teachers, Teacher Assistants and support staff in our public system.

Since 2014 the Tasmanian Government has recruited 269 FTE additional teachers.

This funding represents a vital investment into the future of the Tasmanian community, and the long-term growth of our island state by creating a job ready generation with the skills to participate in a modern economy.
