Tech Priorities in National Energy Resources Plan

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

You are invited to provide feedback on the Technology workstream of the National Consumer Energy Resources (CER) Roadmap (the Roadmap).

Australian consumers have made record-breaking investment in CER, such as rooftop solar. This is driving one of the fastest transformations of energy systems in the world. It is also creating new opportunities and challenges for our systems.

To help harness the full potential of CER, the Roadmap sets out a national approach to future reforms. The work in relation to technology aims to optimise benefits for consumers and the way the system operates.

There are now 3 ways to have your say on the Technology work stream of the Roadmap. You can:

  • complete a survey to identify current CER issues. This will also look to prioritise the outcomes to be achieved through regulation.
  • provide written feedback on a preliminary draft national technical regulatory framework for CER.
  • provide written feedback on technical standards for CER interoperability.

To have your say, follow the instructions on the Consultation Hub.

Feedback needs to be lodged by 11:59pm AEST on Sunday 14 September 2025.
