Teen arrested following police car ramming - Craigieburn

A learner driver has been arrested and his car impounded after allegedly ramming a police vehicle in Craigieburn this morning, Victoria Police say.

Officers spotted a car with no number plates on Aitken Boulevard about 12.20am and attempted to intercept it.

The vehicle allegedly sped away before continuing into the drive-through of a fast food restaurant.

Officers again attempted to intercept the vehicle, which allegedly rammed the police car.

No one was injured during the incident.

A 17-year-old boy from Roxburgh Park was arrested at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

His female passenger, a 16-year-old Glenroy girl, was released without charge.

The teen’s car was impounded at a cost of $939.

The investigation is ongoing.
