A teenager is in police custody following a pursuit in Sydney's west overnight.
Just after 9.45pm yesterday (Monday 29 December 2025), officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were patrolling on Mona Street, South Granville, when they located a black Porche sedan being driven in a suspicious manner.
When it failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued through to Rawson Road, Guildford, before the vehicle crashed into a fence and travelled further into a golf course.
A short time later, the vehicle stopped in the golf course and a number of occupants left the scene on foot.
With assistance from PolAir, Dog Squad and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy in bushland nearby.
A firearm was located in the vehicle and further checks alleged the number plates were cloned.
Police seized both the firearm and the vehicle for forensic examination.
The boy was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he is assisting police with their inquiries.
A crime scene has been established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
