Teen arrested near stolen ute, South Australia

A teenager was arrested for illegal use after a ute was stolen from Elizabeth Vale yesterday afternoon.

The black Ford ute was parked outside the post office at Elizabeth Vale with the engine running when it was stolen about 2.40pm on Tuesday 29 December.

A relative of the owner spotted the stolen ute being driven through Para Hills at 5.30pm. It was then sighted by patrols in the Ingle Farm area about 7.30pm.

Police located the vehicle in Emerald Avenue, Ingle Farm about 7.50pm and detained a 14-year-old boy nearby. It will be alleged he was found in possession of the stolen car keys when searched by officers.

The Ingle Farm youth was arrested and charged with illegal use and driving unlicensed. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court today.
