Teen Charged in Bourke Break-In

A 14-year-old boy will face court today charged with alleged break and enter offences in Bourke.

Police will allege that between Friday 10 April 2026 and Tuesday 5 May 2026, five break and enter offences occurred in Oxley Street, Short Street, Mooculta Street and two offences in Anson Street.

Following inquiries, about 3pm yesterday (Thursday 14 May 2026), officers attached to Central North Police District located and arrested a 14-year-old boy in Hope Street, Bourke.

Police also executed search warrants at homes in Hope Street and Coomah Street Bourke in connection with the investigation. Police allegedly located items which will be forensically examined.

The 14-year-old boy was charged with break & enter house etc steal value <= $60,000 (five counts) and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear before a Children's Court today, Friday 15 May 2026.
