Homicide Squad detectives have charged an additional male over the fatal stabbing of a man in Pemulwuy last month.
About 10.45pm on Thursday 26 June 2025, emergency services were called to Driftway Drive in Pemulwuy, following reports that a man had been stabbed.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were told two unknown men, dressed in dark clothing and disguises, had set upon the 21-year-old when he and his girlfriend arrived at the address.
The man managed to get back into his car and drive a short distance before being overcome by his injuries.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man; however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.
He has since been identified as 21-year-old Luke Manassa.
The matter was referred to State Crime Command's Homicide Squad who established Strike Force Hickety to investigate.
Two teenagers have previously been charged with murder and remain before the courts.
About 7am yesterday (Wednesday 30 July 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from North West Metropolitan Operational Support Group – executed a search warrant in Blacktown.
A 17-year-old male was arrested at the scene and taken to Blacktown Police Station, where he was charged with manslaughter, knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.
He was refused bail and appeared at a children's court yesterday.
Police will allege in court the teen allegedly issued the contract to carry out the attack on another man; however, Mr Manassa was targeted in a case of mistaken identity.
Investigations under Strike Force Hickety are continuing.
