Police have charged a teenage boy over multiple alleged armed robberies in Sydney's west last year.
About 5.10am on Wednesday 3 July 2024, police were called to a service station on Windsor Road, Northmead, following reports a white Mitsubishi SUV was stolen.
Between 5.10am and 6am, the allegedly stolen SUV was used in four separate alleged armed robberies of four woman in Northmead, Toongabbie, and North Parramatta.
Following the North Parramatta incident, police, with the assistance of PolAir, Dog Unit, Raptor squad and the Operational Support Group – conducted a major search for a male, however, he was unable to be located. The SUV was located and seized for forensic examination.
Multiple crime scenes were established, and detectives from Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incidents.
Following extensive inquiries, about 9.15am today (Wednesday 16 April 2025), police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Prince Street, Oatlands.
He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with steal motor vehicle, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, robbery, robbery armed with offensive weapon (three counts), common assault, destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000, and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear at Children's court tomorrow (Thursday 17 April 2025).
