A teen has been charged following an investigation into an aggravated break-in in the state's Central West.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation into reports of an aggravated break-in at a home on Alfred Street, Dubbo, just before 2am on Saturday 15 June 2024.
Police were told the owners confronted a teen before he allegedly fled with car keys and a Toyota Corolla.
The car was located in a driveway on Moad Street, Orange, about 9am on Sunday 16 June 2024. It was seized for forensic examination.
Following inquiries, about 8.10pm yesterday (Thursday 1 August 2024), police attended a home in Dubbo, and arrested a 14-year-old boy.
He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.
The teen was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Friday 2 August 2024).
Operation Boa was formed in January this year, targeting criminal activity in Dubbo and surrounding areas.
