Every year on 11 November, the Snowy Monaro joins communities across Australia in honouring and commemorating the sacrifice of armed services personnel at local Remembrance Day services throughout the region.
At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month—the anniversary of the end of World War I hostilities—we pause for 1 minute of silence to remember all those who have suffered and laid down their lives in service of their nation.
Council encourages the community to join us in observing what has been a solemn and significant Australian tradition since 1919. Whether it's at home, work, school or at one of the many local services being held in towns and villages across the region, please, remember to remember this Remembrance Day.
