Teenage Trio Arrested In Extended Follow

Baw Baw Crime Investigation Unit detectives and Morwell Divisional Response Unit members have arrested three teenagers after an extended follow in Traralgon this afternoon.

Officers on patrol first spotted a red Mazda CX3 travelling south along Strzelecki Highway about 2.17pm.

Officers signalled for the vehicle to pull over, but it allegedly continued on and failed to stop on police direction.

Police followed the vehicle along the highway before stop ticks were successfully deployed.

Although all four tyres on the Mazda deflated, the vehicle allegedly continued to drive along the highway towards Leongatha.

As the vehicle drove erratically along the highway, it allegedly collided with a police vehicle before crashing into a barrier.

No one was injured, and the trio were swiftly arrested.

Police will allege the Mazda was stolen from the Warragul CBD on the July 19.

A 16-year-old male from the Baw Baw area has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, dangerous driving while being pursued by police, fail to stop on police direction and unlicenced driving.

He was remanded to appear before a children's court at a later date.

Two other males, a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old were both released pending further enquiries.
