Teenager charged after brawl and stabbing - Mt Druitt

A teenager has been charged following brawl and stabbing.

Just after 5.50pm on Tuesday (18 July 2023), emergency services were called to the Mt Druitt bus interchange following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command located a 19-year-old man with injuries to his back and head.

Police were told that he was fighting five men at the scene and one of them stabbed him in the middle of brawl.

The 19-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead hospital in a serious, but stable condition.

Following intensive inquiries, police have arrested the 16-year-old teenager at an address on Burringora Street Werrington about 10.30pm on Tuesday (18 July 2023).

He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding, and affray.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Children's Court on Wednesday (19 July 2023).
