Teenager Charged Over Assault In Sydney CBD

A teenage boy has been charged over an alleged assault in the Sydney CBD earlier this month.

About 2.50am on Wednesday 18 February 2026, emergency services responded to reports of a brawl on Pitt Street, Sydney.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated three men - aged 23, 28 and 29 – at the scene for minor injuries.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended the location and were informed that the men were approached by a group of three other men not known to them and assaulted.

During the assault it will be alleged a hammer was used.

The other men left the location prior to police arrival.

Following extensive inquiries, Sydney City detectives arrested a 16-year-old boy at a unit on Dreadnought Street, Roselands, at 9am today (Thursday 26 February 2026).

He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with use offensive weapon in company with intent indictable offence and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s).

The boy was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Thursday 26 February 2026).

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
