Teenagers charged after Geelong aggravated burglary

Police have charged two teenagers after an alleged aggravated burglary and subsequent police pursuit this morning.

The charges follow the alleged aggravated burglary in Peter Street, Bell Post Hill and theft of a BMW sedan about 4am this morning.

The pair were arrested by police after the stolen car was pursued by police for a short time before it caught fire and crashed into a pole on Toorak Road in Hawthorn about 5.30am.

A 15-year-old Corio boy, who police will allege was driving the BMW, has been charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle and driving, drug and property offences.

A 16-year-old Corio boy was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of motor vehicle.

The teenagers will face a children's court at a later date.
