Teens assault man in Melbourne's CBD

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was assaulted by youths with a skateboard outside a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed four males became involved in an altercation with security outside the Little Bourke Street venue about 11.45pm on Saturday 1 December, throwing a can and assaulting them with skateboards.

The group continued to punch and kick the security guards before fleeing west along Little Bourke Street.

A 29-year-old Glenroy man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while a 27-year-old Preston man sustained minor lacerations.

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and have released CCTV images of three males that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The offenders are all believed to be aged 16 to 20-years-old.

The first male was wearing a white hat, blue t-shirt and blue jeans carrying a skateboard.

The second male was wearing a black checked shirt and blue jeans.

The third male has black hair and was wearing a beige t-shirt.

Police are also keen to speak to any witnesses who or anyone in the area at the time of the assault.
