Teens Charged in Manly Aggravated Robbery, Assault

Police charged four teenage boys following a robbery and an assault in Sydney's northern beaches earlier this month.

About 11pm on Saturday 10 January 2025, emergency services were called to a business on The Corso, Manly, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to the Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended and were told a group of teenagers entered the shop, before one allegedly kicked in a door of the storeroom.

A staff member – a 28-year-old man – attempted to remove the group, before he was allegedly repeatedly assaulted.

Police will allege during the assault, other members of the group stole items from the store, before running from the scene.

A short time later, police arrested a 17-year-old boy nearby.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.

The boy was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital for further treatment under police guard.

About 7.30am on Sunday 11 January 2026, he was taken to Manly Police Station after he was released from the hospital.

He was charged with aggravated robbery with wounding/grievous bodily harm, aggravated robbery in company, specially aggravated break and enter and commit serious indict offence-inflict grievous bodily harm, aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence-armed, aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000, and robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Children's Court on Sunday 11 January 2026, where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Children's Court on Monday 12 January 2026. He remains before the court.

Following further inquiries, police arrested further three teenagers:

  • Just after 7.30am on Wednesday (14 January 2026), police arrested two boys – both aged 16 – in Beacon Hill and North Narrabeen areas.
  • About 8am today (Thursday 15 January 2026), detectives from Northern Beaches Police Area Command, with the assistance from North West Metropolitan operations Support Group, arrested a 15-year-old boy in Manly area.

The three boys were all taken to Manly Police Station where they were charged with the same offences as the 17-year-old boy.

They were all granted conditional bail to appear at Children's Court on Wednesday 18 February 2026.
