Three teenagers will face court charged following an alleged aggravated break and enter in the State's west this morning.
About 12.55am (Sunday 17 May 2026), police were called to a cafe on Mitchell Highway, Lucknow, after reports of a break and enter where a Mazda utility was seen to leave the area.
A short time later, Police observed the utility travelling on the Mitchell Highway, Orange, and signalled for it to stop.
When it failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated; however, was terminated due to safety concerns.
The utility was then located abandoned on Lawson Crescent, Orange, where it was towed for further investigation.
Following inquiries, about 4am (Sunday 17 May 2026), police attended a business on the Mitchell Highway, Orange, and arrested three boys, aged between 14 and 15.
They were taken to Orange Police Stations where one of the 15-year-old boys was charged with
- Two counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60000
- Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and
- Breach of bail.
The other 15-year-old boy was charged with
- Two counts of be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner
- Five counts of aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60000
- Breach of bail, and
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle).
The 14-year-old was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal less than or equal to $60000.
All three were refused bail to appear at a children's court tomorrow (Monday 18 May 2026).
Police will allege the trio were involved in multiple other break and enters at businesses in the Orange area across the last few weeks.
