Moira Shire Council is inviting the community to share their experiences of Thompsons Beach as part of future planning for the precinct.

Council wants to understand what makes Thompsons Beach special to locals and visitors. Whether people paddle, swim, walk, fish, or simply enjoy the riverfront, insights into how the precinct is used today will help Council protect this much-loved space for decades to come.

Thompsons Beach is enjoyed year-round for its white sandy riverfront, shaded river red gums and open grassed areas. These natural features make it one of the region's most iconic places to gather, relax and connect. Council is asking residents and visitors to share what they value, how they use the area, and what they want to see protected.

Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson PSM said the feedback collected will guide the development of a long-term masterplan.

"This consultation is about listening. Thompsons Beach is an iconic natural environment, and we know that it means something different to everyone. That's why Council is gathering stories, experiences and ideas to identify the elements that matter most, so a masterplan can be developed to help protect and enhance the precinct for future generations," Dr Emonson said.

Council encourages all community members and visitors to participate. Feedback will be reviewed, summarised and used to inform planning before any concepts are shared.
