Tender out for Lauderdale Primary School redevelopment

The Rockliff Liberal Government's $6.5 million redevelopment of Lauderdale Primary School is gathering pace, with the release of the construction tender.

Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, said the upgrade will deliver new contemporary learning spaces, amenities, and replace outdated outdoor play areas.

"The new facilities at Lauderdale Primary School will better support our students and staff, reinforcing our Government's commitment to providing the best possible facilities for our students," Minister Jaensch said.

"The works plan for the redevelopment has previously been released and has attracted positive feedback from the school and broader community.

"The works are expected to be completed in the first half of 2025, subject to the outcome of the tender process."

The redevelopment is part of $255 million allocated in the 2023-24 State Budget for new and upgraded education infrastructure.

Liberal Member for Franklin, Dean Young, said the new facilities at Lauderdale Primary School will be enjoyed by students, staff and the school community for years to come.

"This school upgrade is delivering on the Tasmanian Liberal Government's 2021 commitment," Mr Young said.

"It is one of many ways we are taking our State to new levels and making it the best place to live, work and raise a family."

Other major education infrastructure projects being delivered in the south of the State include the $15.1 million redevelopment of Cambridge Primary School, the $20 million redevelopment of Hobart City High School and the $24.9 million revitalisation of Cosgrove High School.
