Today the design and construction tender for the new $12 million multi-storey car park has been released.
The development will accommodate 250 cars and provide much needed additional on-site car parking for staff and public at the Alice Springs Hospital.
This project will support over 65 local Alice Springs jobs.
Due to the available footprint, the completed building will be a four-storey structure. The development application will be subject to consideration by the Development Consent Authority.
The hospital multi-storey car park is part of the Alice Springs Hospital Masterplan, along with the development of new staff accommodation.
Works are currently underway for the 70 new staff accommodation project which is supporting over 110 jobs and indirectly provide support for 465 jobs.

As stated by Minister for Central Australian Economic Reconstruction, Dale Wakefield:
“The Territory Labor Government’s top priority is protecting Territorians and creating local jobs. The hospital car park and new staff accommodation projects will support more than 175 local jobs during construction and support a further 465 indirect jobs.
“We have acknowledged for some time that hospital car parking has been an issue. This is why it has been incorporated into the development of the Masterplan.
“At times when families are under a lot of stress attending the hospital, this car park will help to make the burden a little easier.
“Work is also well underway on the new staff accommodation, which is about retaining our hardworking health professionals, while attracting more people to stay in Alice Springs.”
