The Smith Family is aiming to raise $3.8 million nationally this Christmas to help support disadvantaged children achieve their potential by staying engaged in their education.
The Tasmanian Government strongly believes in the power of education which is why I was delighted to kick off this year’s Appeal with a $1,000 donation.
Funds raised through the Appeal provide scholarships for students in year 7 to 10, college and potentially the first year of tertiary study.
The Smith Family’s successful ‘Learning for Life’ program has also helped more than a thousand Tasmanian students in 2018.
The Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting Smith Family’s work through a $1.6 million investment to help maintain School Community Hubs and provide Learning for Life scholarships.
