Thief uses stolen credit card in Preston

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a thief who used a stolen credit card in Preston last month.

Police have been told a credit card was stolen from a car parked on Shower Street in Preston sometime between 8pm on 19 October and 20 October.

The victim's credit card was used just after 6am 20 October at a service station on Bell Street in Preston.

The male purchased cigarettes and other items and also attended other retail outlets in the area.

The offender is described as 30 to 45-years-old, 175cm tall with a tattoo on his left hand.

Police have released an image a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
