Thieves return to address to steal car following aggravated burglary in Narre Warren South

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after an aggravated burglary and the theft of a motor car in Narre Warren South overnight, Victoria Police say.

The aggravated burglary occurred at a residential home on Ormond Road when the homeowner, a 59-year-man, answered a knock on his front door just before 10pm.

When the victim opened the door, a group of six to eight men entered the home and assaulted the victim by kicking and punching him to the ribs and head.

The offenders ran through the house, stealing cash and the keys to the victim’s car, a 2006 red Holden Commodore with registration 1NY 7FY, before fleeing the scene.

The victim was conveyed to a local hospital and while being treated for his injuries, the thieves returned and stole the victim’s Holden Commodore.

The victim told investigators that the men were aged in their mid to late teens and perceived to be of African appearance.

Investigators believe the car was seen in the Stonington area around 5.30am and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
